STEPi operates in South Africa, East Africa and other parts of Africa, reaching educators, parents, and children in both urban and rural areas. Our books are being read in classrooms across the continent, and our training programs empower teachers to deliver high-quality education.
STEPi’s Community Engagement Coordinators and partners visit schools in under-resourced communities where they distribute STEPi resources such as STEPi storybooks, teacher guides, classroom posters, and inspirational postcards and host interactive reading activities with the school children.
By interacting with students and teachers in an engaging, personal and interactive way, getting everyone out of their comfort zones through reading activities or motivational teacher workshops, a literacy transformation can take place. One book at a time.
STEPi strives to encourage every child or student to be curious and imaginative; to spark their creativity and to boost their self-esteem. STEPi believes that all children have a right to cultivate a love for books and reading so that they can understand the importance of their education.

It takes a village to raise a child, so everyone in the village is important. STEPi also hosts Teaching with Love interactive training sessions for educators that focus on child-centred teaching strategies and fostering positive learning environments.
Additionally, STEPi’s Parenting with Love talks provide parents, teachers, caregivers and community leaders with the tools to support their children’s education through love, structure, and encouragement.
