Shake it up so learning happens
This article really got me thinking about tribes. How did we sit for different tasks when there were no desks, chairs, or walls? So how should we sit? We should sit around the task and the lessor's intention. Shaking it up gets students away from “lazy” brains & habits and helps with cognitive & creative brain development. The idea of having students face out got my attention; However, from a learning environment standpoint..this adjustment can trigger focus and minimize distractions for students. Also you can see what the students are working on easily(especally if they are on laptops) . My suggestion is to be intentional about the classroom or seminar setup and experiment…Adding this to saying, “Do not sit with the person you sat with yesterday."
